Description
N-GEN nitrogen generators employ Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology to extract nitrogen from ambient air while filtering out other gases. The compressed and filtered air is directed into a molecular sieve bed where nitrogen is separated and other gases are trapped. Once the outlet valve is closed, the sieve releases the trapped gases into the atmosphere, and the bed is purged with nitrogen before the next production cycle begins. To ensure a consistent product flow, N-GEN generators utilise two molecular sieve beds that alternate between adsorption and regeneration phases.
There are however alternative methods to produce industrial nitrogen gas, such as separating gaseous air through membrane technology or fractional distillation of liquid air using cryogenic technology. The chosen production method will depend on the required purity, capacity, and expenditure regime.
