Effective management of compressed air systems entails addressing the issue of pressure drop. Pressure drop presents a significant challenge in these systems since every obstruction in the compressed air flow necessitates more power to drive the compressor.

The compressed air pipeline has a fixed pressure drop. This is already factored into the equation during compressor dimensioning. However, the pressure drop in the filter element is variable.. While it is an essential feature for removing air pollutants, the saturation of the filter element can lead to an increase in pressure drop over time. This causes additional compressor power consumption and an increase in operating costs. As a result, it’s crucial to monitor and regulate pressure drop in the filter element.

National Filters offers solutions like pressure drop indicators with analogue or digital displays showing filter saturation levels. Some models include outputs for remote monitoring.
