Effective management of compressed air systems entails addressing the issue of pressure drop. Pressure drop presents a significant challenge in these systems since every obstruction in the compressed air flow necessitates more power to drive the compressor. Although the compressed air pipeline has a fixed pressure drop, already factored into the equation during compressor dimensioning, the pressure drop in the filter element is a variable ingredient. While it is an essential feature for removing air pollutants, the saturation of the filter element can lead to an increase in pressure drop over time, causing additional compressor power consumption and an increase in operating costs. As a result, it’s crucial to monitor and regulate pressure drop in the filter element. National Filters provides an array of solutions for this purpose, including pressure drop indicators equipped with analogue or digital displays of filter element saturation levels, some of which have outputs for remote monitoring.
